Pre-race Clinic - "101 Triathlon Basics":
June 21, 7:15pm at Fayetteville Athletic
Club. Ron Schmidt of React Performance will be taking both kids
and parents through an overview of the course. Questions are encouraged.

Race Day Packet Pickup: 7:00am at Fayetteville
Athletic Club. Fayetteville Athletic
Club in the pool area. Enter between the tennis courts and the Kid's
Factory on the south side of the complex. Signage will direct participants
to check in and body marking.
Race Day Parking: Please park in designated
areas only. Club and tennis members must have access to the club. Parking
areas are noted on the event map.
USA Triathlon License Information:
The Tri-Sport Club
Kid’s Triathlon is a USAT sanctioned event. Each participant must have
a current USAT membership card to participate in the event. If an athlete
is not a current USAT member, they are required to purchase either a
one-day ($10) or annual ($15) membership at packet pickup.

Age and Race Division
Per USA Triathlon Rules: Racing age is determined by the athlete’s age on
December 31. For Example: If you are 10 on the day of the race, but
turn 11 before December 31, you will be placed in the 11 year old age
Race day Timeline:
7:00 a.m. Packet Pickup begins
a.m. Transition opens/ Body marking begins
a.m. Transition area closes
a.m. MANDATORY Pre-race meeting in pool area
8:00 a.m. First heat begins with 5 & 6 year olds.
9:15 a.m. (approximate) Transition re-opens for bike/gear removal
after 12-14 old race
9:30 a.m. (approximate) Awards / Announcements at the conclusion
of all races
Race Day Procedures:
Please check in at the registration table located next to the pool area.
Participant will have their age and race number marked on their arm/leg
with a magic marker.
Take bike, helmet, clothes to the transition area (area where bikes,
shoes and clothing are stored while athlete is participating)
Volunteer will review bike to ensure it is safe to ride
Participants must have their number visible for the bike and run – running
belts are allowed
Kids will be divided by age and sex as much as possible (depends on
the final number registered).

1. Kids will start in the pool – no jumping or

The use of assistive devices including flotation devices and training
wheels will be allowed during the triathlon. However, athletes using
these devices will not be eligible for an award. These athletes will
receive USA Triathlon finisher's bracelets.

Age 5-6: 25
yd swim; ½ mile bike; ¼ mile run
Age 7-8: 50
yd swim; 1 mile bike; ½ mile run
Age 9-11: 100
yd swim; 2 mile bike; ½ mile run
Age 12-14: 150
yd swim; 3 mile bike; 1 mile run
§ Swim - 1 Length of the pool is 25 yards

We will be using swim caps (orange - boys, yellow
- girls), plus symbols to help differentiate each of the age groups:
Age 5-6: N/A
Age 7-8: Black Circle
Age 9-11: Red Triangle
Age 12-14: Blue Square
Results: Results will be posted following the race –

Amenities: Each competitor will receive a t-shirt and
all participants completing the race will receive a USA Triathlon finisher’s
medal. All competitors’ names
will be in a drawing to win a Boy’s and a Girl’s Bike provided
by Lewis and Clark Outfitters,
and other door prizes
will also be provided. Post Race Celebration..this will be worth
the wait with pizza and drinks for all participants!
Awards: For each individual age and gender, (5 yrs,
6 yrs, 7 yrs, 8 yrs, etc.) 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
place medals will be awarded to both boys and girls.
